1、A Coach and His Players
I was the new coach of a Little League baseball team and had not yet learned the names of my players. At our first game, I called each boy by the number on his uniform. When I yelled,"Number5, your time to bat, " Jeff Smith came to the plate to hit. When I called for "Number 7", Steve Heinz jumped up. Then I asked for "Number 1", and no one emerged from the gout. Again I called for Number 1. Still no one.
As the umpire looked on, annoyed at this delay of the game, I shouted, "Who is Number 1?"
That\'s when the whole team yelled, "We are, Coach! We are!
2、The 4th of July is one of the most loved holidays of the year. Because the weather is usually nice in July, people love to get outside and do fun things like camp, swim, boat, fish and barbecue. Picnics are one of the most common ways to celebrate - followed, of course, by fireworks when the sun goes down and it gets dark.
Anna and Beth recently discussed their plans for the 4th of July weekend. Listen in to their conversation to hear what they had to say.
Beth: So Anna, do you have any plans for July 4th?
Anna: Yeah, I\'m going up to, um, Anacortes, Washington, just off of Seattle, with some friends.
Beth: That sounds fun. What are you going to do there?
Anna: We are going to camp, old fashioned style with, um, a big fire and roast marshmallows. And then the next day we\'re going to go sea kayaking, which I\'ve never done.
Beth: Oh, that must be amazing. I bet it\'ll be just beautiful.
Anna: Have you ever sea kayaked?
Beth: I\'ve wanted to go up to the San Juans, but I haven\'t had an opportunity to.
Anna: Yeah, I haven\'t and I\'m kind of worried after rowing all day that I might get tired, but I think the views will be worth it.
Beth: Oh, you\'ll do great. Do you think it\'s going to be crowded since it is a holiday weekend.
Anna: Oh, I\'m sure it will but, at the campsite you have to reserve a spot, so I don\'t think you can get any more people than is already a full campground. But, that\'s part of 4th of July I think, just a lot of people running around, kids and fireworks and watermelon

Or, if your mom makes a big deal every time you do some little thing wrong, you could say she\'s a "drama queen."
